My top three: 1) Shawshank Redemption - Shows the power of hope in even the most dire of situations. Quite possibly the most powerful movie of all time (IMHO). 2) The Matrix - Shows the value of questioning the appearance of reality and digging past that reality to find Truth. Also gets points for it's heavy inspiration from Plato's Cave. 3) The Corporation - Since a corporation is, legally, a person this film's producers go about evaluating what kind of a person a corporation is and conclude that a corporation is, due to only focusing on profit, a psychopath! Great post but I have a different take on the idea.

My top three:

1) Shawshank Redemption – Shows the power of hope in even the most dire of situations. Quite possibly the most powerful movie of all time (IMHO).

I must have seen it more than 20 times and every single time I find something new. Cinematography is superb. Colours are all meaningful (dark and gray when sad, bright and vibrant when happy). Dialogues cannot be any better. And acting is one of the best I have ever seen. The scene where Forrest walks in Jenny's and she tells her about little Forrest. The look on Hanks' face is all that delivers the moment. He doesn't say anything. But you can read everything from his face. Just perfect. Literraly everything about it is perfect. After you're done watching it, you are left with a strange feeling that is neither sadness nor happiness and is hard to describe. Anyone who hasn't seen Forrest Gump is missing a great enjoyable film. It's not what you get after watching the usual Holly Wood drama at all. Watch it. You won't regret it!
