Adobe Reader 8.0 is released
Adobe has recently released the version 8.0 of its PDF reader. From version 7.0 onwards Adobe acrobat reader is known as Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is free and can be used to view, search, digitally sign, verify and print PDF documents. Adobe Acrobat (version 8.0), a tool to manipulate PDF documents costs about $450.
What are the major enhancements in Adobe Reader 8.0?
1. Enhanced interface – Reader 8 user interface is now improved. There is a loupe feature which can be used for a closer look at the documents.
2. Real time collaboration – Collaborate using “Start meeting” button.
3. Improved graphics rendering – Adobe reader 8.0 now supports 2D graphics processors! Hence scrolling in huge “graphics rich” PDFs will be faster. This is the only reason why I upgraded
4. Easier deployment – A wide range of tools can be used for enterprise deployment. Also it is possible to host Reader on Citrix server or Microsoft terminal server.
5. Improved accessibility features – Improved read out loud capabilities and support for legal requirements in US.
